this is what I did~ go to your customize page. and if you're using S1, switch to S2. after you click "Select a different theme," type "Flexible Squares" in the theme search box. there are 18 kinds of Flexible Squares theme. choose one and click "Apply theme."
for the banner, you can pick ANY PICTURE you want. but it's best if the width is 760px. (the height doesn't really matter.) so now, go find a banner! you can find some pics for your background as well. (it can be gif image like my sakura petals or jeg image.)
and for the codes, don't worry about that. I'll help you to that point as well. hehehe..
